Checkmate the opposing king. Select one of your pieces and tap a marked destination. White starts. Moves that leave your own king in check are forbidden; the threatened king is marked. Promote a pawn to a queen, rook, bishop or knight when it reaches the last rank.
Standard moves include castling and en passant. This casual version automatically ends drawn games by stalemate, threefold repetition, the 50-move rule or insufficient mating material. Castling is unavailable after the king or rook has moved, or through attacked squares.
Choose Human vs human for two people on the same device. Player 1 is White; Player 2 is Black. Local games are not ranked.
