Bowling tips: practise line, spin and remaining pins

Build a repeatable throw instead of relying on maximum power. Use the aiming guide and changing starting spots effectively.

One big hit is satisfying; repeatable good throws are a better training goal. In Bowling Plus, starting spot, angle, spin and power affect the result. Change them methodically so that a missed shot suggests a specific correction.

In this guide

Choose a target beside the headpin

Start with a line slightly beside the headpin. A dead-centre impact often leaves side pins, while a thin glance reaches too little material. Gaps toward the second row make useful test targets. Observe the ball’s arrival point before changing its entire path.

The aiming guide is a pre-impact reference. It does not guarantee a strike or fully predict the pin chain reaction. Different spin or speed can change the result even when the visible target point looks similar.

Do not change four variables at once

Initially hold power and spin steady and adjust only direction. If the ball repeatedly reaches one side too early, reduce curve or change launch angle. Lower power gives spin more time to act in our simulation. Maximum power therefore cannot replace a suitable line.

Record starting spot, direction, spin, power and remaining pins in a practice series. The final spot is locked after a frame: translate your learned target to the next spot rather than blindly repeating the same direction.

Treat remaining pins as a separate task

The second roll targets the remaining formation, not the original headpin. A single corner pin needs a different line from two adjacent pins. Spare Challenge gives one attempt per preset formation. Use it to study routes, but do not transfer its zero-or-ten scoring to an ordinary bowling frame.

Play deliberately and compare like with like

On a phone, use sliders if your finger hides the target. Start with the multiplier off and aiming guide on, then change one aid at a time. Compare series only under the same variant and multiplier choice. Battery saver changes rendering, not rules. Returning to the play page starts a fresh round with saved preferences.
