About Joint Puzzle
Choose what stays still
Tap any coloured joint to hold it with a visible golden clamp. Drag a joint on either side to turn that whole arm. Tap the fixed joint again to release it, or choose a different joint.
Find a way around
Early puzzles introduce short chains. Later levels add different bar lengths and small pillars. Each turn needs a clear path; you cannot move a bar through a pillar. Crossings between bars are allowed.
Build the exact shape
Two introductory puzzles lead into 48 demanding shapes, ordered by increasing complexity. More joints, varied bar lengths and up to four pillars make you plan your turns. A tip previews a safe movement; the finished replay shows your own solution.
Rules, controls and settings
Goal and fixed joints
Rebuild the target with matching colours and orientation. A mirror image or a rotated shape does not count. The position on the surface does not matter. No joint starts fixed: you choose which one to hold.
Tapping fixes one joint with a golden clamp. Tapping it again releases it; tapping a different joint moves the clamp. Dragging a joint before or after the clamp rotates the whole arm on that side. The other side stays still. Turns snap to 45° steps.
Touch and keyboard
Tap to fix, then drag a different joint to rotate its arm. Fixing itself costs no move. With the keyboard, Tab focuses a joint; Enter or Space fixes or releases it. Arrows preview a rotation, Enter confirms it, and Escape cancels the preview.
Movement previews and undo
Choose Hint and press OK to watch a suitable movement. Your actual position and fixing remain unchanged. If you leave the demonstrated route, a hint can show a safe Undo before continuing. Undo counts as a move. After completion, Replay shows your own accepted turns, including undone turns.
Levels and preferences
Levels 1 and 2 remain gentle introductions. From level 3, each puzzle is selected for a higher measured challenge: 6 joints and one pillar in levels 3–12, 7 joints and two pillars in 13–28, then 8 joints with three pillars in 29–40 and four in 41–50. Most angles begin wrong and several direct turns are blocked. Changing a level or restarting asks before replacing an active attempt.
Display and sound
The timer is hidden by default. Reduced motion shortens transitions and replaces blinking with a steady mark. Sound and volume are adjustable independently.
